Donate Nation takes your privacy very seriously. We will not pass your personal details on to anyone, except the charity you have chosen to support, without your express consent.

The only exception to this rule is when you register a Donate Nation charity page. Your name, email address and postal address may be given to the charity so they can identify you as the source of  donations received.

Please note that by visiting or registering with Donate Nation, you are agreeing to the practices detailed below, so please read carefully to find out how we will treat your information.

 

Donate Nation collects information about the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of all visitors to our site. An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer  when you use the Internet. This information is only collected in aggregate (in other words, we are not able to monitor your individual usage of the site) and helps us monitor site traffic patterns in order to improve our service.

This site uses cookies for some interactive features. A cookie is a small amount of data, which includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a website's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. Most browsers will automatically accept cookies. You can set your browser to reject cookies, but some parts of the website may not function properly if the cookies are rejected.

 

When you create a secure personal account on Donate Nation for the purpose of creating a Donate Nation fundraising page, we collect your title, name, email address, postal address, your phone number (where you agree to provide it ) and your password. We will automatically pass on your name and email and home addresses to the charity that will benefit from the donations you are collecting. In all other instances, this information will be withheld from third parties unless you give us your express consent to do otherwise.

 

If you donate on Donate Nation, we collect your first and last name, your credit or debit card details (including card type, card number and expiry date) and your billing address. We will only use your payment details for the purpose of processing your donation via our payment partner, Peach Payments, This is however, all encrypted and tokenised and no card details is held by us

Every time you make a donation, you will be given the option to receive further information from the charity:

We will not send you email newsletters at any time unless you have expressly opted to receive them. All newsletters from Donate Nation include the option to unsubscribe. If you have a personal Donate Nation account, you can change your contact preferences at any time by visiting the section entitled "your details".

 

Where your personal details have been passed to a charity through our website, we accept no responsibility for the subsequent use of your personal information by the charity. If you wish to stop receiving further communications from a charity, please contact them directly.

 

 The transfer of online transaction data to and from the website is protected by the implementation of SSL Certificate provided by Thawte. It is your responsibility to keep your password secure at all times to avoid unauthorised use of your Donate Nation account.

 

Although unlikely, Donate Nation may be forced by law to provide personally identifiable information to the appropriate authorities.

 

Use of the Donate Nation website and associated services implies acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of it, please do not continue to use the website and services. This policy may change from time to time and you are deemed to have accepted the current version each time you use Donate Nation.co.za or any site powered by us.
