I AM FOR HER FOUNDATION (IAFHF) is a non-profit organisation providing a sustainable solution to the menstrual hygiene and well-being challenges of indigent adolescent girls in Southern Africa. The aim of the Foundation is to provide free access to sanitary pad, eco-friendly disposal of used sanitary material and menstruation hygiene and well-being education to adolescent girls in informal settlements and rural areas of Southern Africa.

In South Africa 2.1 million adolescent girls do not have access to adequate menstrual hygiene supplies.

Adolescent girls living in poverty often use rags, newspapers or leaves as menstrual aids while menstruating.

Used sanitary pads are disposed of in landfills and takes between 500-800 years for the non-biodegradable content to decompose.

When we donate sanitary pads as part of a sanitary pad drive, do we know if the donated sanitary pads are reaching the intended beneficiaries?
